As of now, Applicant must be lodged the online application, via Immi Account to submit the application. Australian Visa Application Centers (AVACs) can no longer accept paper applications for Temporary Activity Work visas after the updated rules.
Temporary activity visa requires sponsorship in some few conditions:
- If the candidate is staying in Australia for more than three months of the period
- If the candidate is applying in Australia.
Features of Temporary Activity Visa
The Temporary Activity visa-subclass 408 has many features which applicant to stay and work for a temporary base in Australia. It enables professional academics to visit Australia on a temporary base which will applicants to observe or participate in an Australian research project for a given time period. The visa is valid for the period of the activity (training/research) up to two years of span. The visa allows an applicant to enter Australia on multiple events during the visa validity period. The applicant could enter and leave Australia as many time as desired until the visa is valid. Health & Character Requirements
Under this visa category, the applicant needs to maintain adequate health insurance for the full duration of stay in Australia. It should be done for the primary visa holder as well as any secondary applicants with the same application. It is necessary to obtain the Health insurance in order to be granted Subclass 408 visa.
And as per the latest updated rules, the applicant must be covered by the Medicare health scheme if your country does not have a reciprocal health care agreement with Australia. This visa application requires the health and character documents to become eligible. Candidate needs to submit the proof of health which should be done not done more than 6 months prior. There are three conditions at the time of applying
If a candidate applying in Australia, then he/she must be sponsored by an approved temporary activities sponsor or sponsor who passes the sponsorship test in Australia.
If a candidate is applying outside Australia and he/she intend to stay in Australia for three months or less, then involved organization or individual must pass the support test.
If a candidate is applying outside Australia and he/she intend to stay in Australia for more than three months, the applicant must be sponsored by an approved temporary activities sponsor or sponsor who passes the sponsorship test in Australia.
Processing Time
Processing times vary for this category of visa.
