About Partner Visa
Partner visas are applicable for married partners, including same-gender relationships. The candidate must be sponsored by his or her spouse or partner, which includes the category of same-gender relationship. Your sponsor must be an Australian citizen, permanent Australian resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to arrive and remain in Australia enduringly. The category of visa depends on the type of relationship between both of you. Though partner visas could be categorized into three major subclasses, this visa is broadly divided into two categories: prospective marriage visas and partner visas. Prospective Marriage Visa
Prospective Marriage Visa-Subclass 300 is a temporary visa for a period. Although the applicant could apply for the permanent visa to settle down in Australia This subclass is the perfect answer for people who want to enter Australia before the wedding. You need to make sure about the citizenship status or other conditions before applying for this category. Therefore, your fiancé must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen enduringly. This visa is valid for the for the 9 months only, it could not be extended for any circumstances. If you are subclass 300 visa holder, then you need to get married within these 9 months. The applicant could apply for the permanent visa after marriage. This visa will allow you to travel to Australia even before marriage.
